Tunic
Tunics
A tunic is a longer top — usually mid-thigh or upper hip length — cut looser through the body than a fitted blouse. The silhouette is versatile: worn over swimwear at the pool, over leggings or slim pants as daywear, or as a light layer at home. Tunics live between clothes categories, which is why they're one of the most-worn pieces once someone gets used to them.
Our tunic collection covers bamboo and silk (mostly bamboo — silk tunics work but require more care), in silhouettes that range from fitted-through-the-shoulder-with-relaxed-body (the classic) to fully loose (the kaftan-adjacent version).
The construction case: tunics need to fit properly at the shoulder to hang correctly. Bad tunics fit through the shoulder wrong — either too tight and pulling, or too dropped and looking sloppy. Ours are cut with attention to shoulder fit at each size, so the tunic reads as intentional rather than accidental.
Sleeve lengths vary. Short-sleeve tunics for summer and warm-weather travel. Three-quarter sleeve for year-round wear. Long-sleeve tunics for cooler weather or evening layering.
Neckline treatments vary too. V-necks (the most versatile). Boat necks (for a more considered look). Occasionally mandarin or notch collars for the more tailored versions.
Where tunics work: resort wear, daily wear over pants, home wear that reads as clothes, layering under vests or open cardigans. Where they don't: formal events or anything that needs a fitted silhouette.
