Non-Padded Bras

Non-padded bras give a natural shape — no padding to shape the bust, no molded cup construction, just soft fabric that follows the body. It's the most honest of the bra constructions, and it's the right answer if you don't want the bra to change how your body looks under clothes.

The construction is straightforward. Soft cups, usually two or three fabric layers, with underwire or wireless support depending on the style. The cup shape comes from stitching and cut, not from foam or padding. This means the bra sits closer to the body, feels lighter, and often runs cooler in warm weather.

Non-padded bras work best under looser tops, layered pieces, and fabrics that already have their own structure. They can show nipple through thin fabric — that's the trade-off for the natural shape and lighter feel. Many people layer with a camisole underneath thinner tops.
