Spacer Bras

Spacer bras use a specific type of fabric in the cup — a three-dimensional knit with tiny air channels between two layers — that stays cooler and more breathable than solid foam padding. The cup has the smooth structure of a moulded bra but with much better airflow.

The practical case is real. Regular foam-padded cups trap heat against the skin, which is fine in cool weather but uncomfortable in summer or in warm climates. Spacer fabric moves air through the cup, which keeps the cup cooler and reduces moisture buildup during long wear.

This makes spacer bras particularly useful for warm weather, for people who overheat, for long days in fitted clothes, and for anyone who finds regular padded bras get uncomfortable through hours of wear.

Our spacer bra collection covers smooth-cup styles (the most common, for under fitted clothes), lightly padded styles (the spacer fabric provides some shape, no additional padding needed), and specialized full-coverage spacer bras for larger busts.

The construction otherwise follows standard bra construction — underwire for shape and support, adjustable straps, standard band. The difference is in the cup fabric itself.

Where spacer bras work: hot weather, humid climates, long days, workout wear (some spacer bras are cut as sports bras). Where they don't add value: cold weather (no benefit over regular padding), formal wear where a moulded cup already works fine.
