High Waisted
High-Waisted Briefs
High-waisted briefs sit at or just below the natural waist — much higher than the low-rise cut that dominated underwear design for two decades. The silhouette is often called retro, though "classical" is more accurate: high-waisted briefs were the standard cut for most of the twentieth century and have been the dominant cut in luxury lingerie for the last several years.
The practical case is real. High-waisted briefs are usually the most comfortable option for daily wear because there's no low-rise waistband pressing across the hip. The wider band distributes pressure across a larger area. And the cut works particularly well under high-waisted pants and skirts — the underwear band actually matches the pant waist, so nothing pulls or bunches.
Our high-waisted brief collection covers lace styles (the most common — lace across the front and back with a shaped waistband), silk and satin styles (for the coordinated-set case, usually paired with matching bras), and everyday cotton or bamboo styles (for daily wear).
The construction detail that matters most: the waistband. A good high-waisted brief has a proper waistband — either shaped lace, a soft elastic covered in matching fabric, or a wide band. It shouldn't dig, roll down through the day, or lose shape after a few washes.
