Bandeau Bras

A bandeau bra is a strapless bra, cut as a simple band across the bust. No straps at the shoulders, no wire (usually), no padding beyond what's needed for basic structure. It's what you wear under strapless tops, off-shoulder dresses, one-shoulder styles — anything where a regular bra with visible straps wouldn't work.

The construction case is specific. Because there's no shoulder support, the whole weight of the bust rests on the band around the ribcage. That means the band has to fit properly and have real grip — usually silicone strip along the inside edge — to stay in place. A badly fitted bandeau slides down through the day; a properly fitted one stays where you put it.

Bandeau bras work best for smaller and medium busts where the band alone can provide enough support. For larger busts, a strapless bra with more structure (usually with removable straps) is usually a better answer than a bandeau.
