Satin Robes

Satin robes are the reasonable middle: the look of a silk robe with easier care. If you want a robe that reads as considered — visible drape, glossy finish, weight that falls properly — but you don't want the hand-washing routine, satin is the answer.

The fabric does specific work in a robe. Weight matters — the robe needs enough of it to fall against the body without being heavy or hot. Drape matters — cheap satin bunches at the waist and pulls at the shoulders; well-made satin doesn't. Glossy finish reads as luxury without being aggressively shiny.

Our satin robe collection covers three lengths. Short satin robes (mid-thigh, often kimono-cut) for morning and getting ready. Mid-length satin robes at the knee for everyday layering. Long satin robes at ankle length for the more considered version.

Belts are properly constructed — sewn at the sides so they stay on the robe, with matching belt loops. Cuff and collar detail is where satin robes vary most; some have simple pipe edging, some have lace trim, some have contrast satin binding.

Care is easy — gentle cycle machine wash in cool water, tumble dry low or hang. Ironing isn't necessary if you hang it while it's still slightly damp.
