Side Support
Side Support Bras
Side support bras solve a specific problem: for larger busts, standard cup construction lets the bust shift toward the underarm through the day, which changes both shape and comfort. Side support bras have reinforced fabric panels along the outside of the cup — either as a separate fabric layer or as structured cut — that keeps the bust properly centered and lifted.
The construction is usually a three-piece or four-piece cup, with the side panel doing structural work that a standard two-piece cup doesn't. The underwire is longer, extending further under the arm to work with the side panel. The band is wider for additional support. Straps are set slightly wider on the shoulder to distribute weight properly.
The practical case is real. For anyone with a larger bust — typically DD and above, though it depends on frame — side support bras stay in shape all day where standard cup construction doesn't. Less adjustment, less shifting, better shape under fitted clothes. It's the kind of construction detail you don't notice until you've worn a properly built side-support bra for a week, and then it's hard to go back.
Our side support collection covers smooth-cup styles (for under fitted t-shirts and business clothes), lace-detailed styles (visible detail work with the same structural support), and full-coverage side-support constructions (the most supportive combination we make).
Fit matters more here than on simpler constructions, because the shaped side panel has to line up properly at each size. Ours are graded across XS through 6XL with the side-support panel scaling correctly at each step — not just fabric added on, but the whole shape redrafted.
