Babydoll
Babydoll Lingerie
A babydoll is shorter than a chemise, usually cut just below the bust with a flared or A-line silhouette that ends at upper thigh. The construction typically has a fitted bodice (often with underwire or padded cup) and a flowing skirt of sheer fabric, lace, or a combination. It's the most explicitly lingerie-adjacent piece in our sleepwear collection — designed to be seen, not just slept in.
The construction case: because a babydoll has a fitted bust and a loose skirt, the bodice needs proper structure and the skirt fabric needs to fall correctly. Bad babydolls have a limp bodice or a skirt that clings; well-made ones have a bodice that fits properly and a skirt that flares.
Our babydoll collection uses silk, satin, and lace. Silk babydolls have the bias-cut drape that only silk gives. Satin babydolls have visible weight and glossy finish. Lace babydolls are usually a lace bodice with a sheer skirt, or a full lace overlay.
Details across the collection stay considered rather than gimmicky. Small lace trim at the neckline or hem. Adjustable spaghetti straps. Occasional bow detail at the center front. Nothing costume-adjacent.
Sizing works differently on babydolls than on other pieces because the bust structure matters more than overall body measurement. The size chart specifies bust and body measurement separately — pay attention to both.
