Short Robe
Short Robes
Short robes are for the practical morning moments. Getting ready, morning coffee, throwing something on to answer the door. Long robes get in the way for some of that — the sleeves catch in things, the length is more than you need. A well-cut short robe solves the problem without giving up the feeling of wearing an actual robe.
The length usually hits mid-thigh, sometimes just above the knee for taller frames. The cut is either kimono (wider sleeves, straight lines, tied at the front) or a more traditional wrap (fitted at the shoulder, belted at the waist). Both work — the choice is mostly about how much shoulder you want covered.
Our short robe collection covers three fabrics. Silk short robes for the temperature-regulating case and the way silk moves. Bamboo short robes for everyday softness and easy care. Satin short robes for visible drape and glossy finish.
The belt matters more on a short robe than on a long one, because there's less fabric to hold the shape. Ours have properly sewn belts with real belt loops at the waist — the belt stays where you put it.
Care depends on the fabric: silk hand-washes or goes on gentle cycle in a mesh bag; bamboo machine-washes cool; satin gentle cycle.
